My name is Serdal Karakuş, I was born and raised in Cappadocia (central Turkey). When I was 15 I started working in local carpet shops and kilims and carpets have been my passion ever since. Almost immediately I started collecting antique pieces and I have been spending any spare money that I have (or sometimes don't have) on pieces I just have to have. My collection includes pieces indigenous to Cappadocia and Turkey in general. Each piece is unique and tells a story about the region and the individual who made the kilim or carpet. The material, dye and patterns hold so much history and show freedom of expression and artistic skill which is woven into each piece.
