This happy rug from Northwest Persia exemplifies the spirit of great Kurdish village weaving. Multi-colored, eye-dazzling diamonds are drawn against a blue field with a playful use of モabrashヤ or modulated hues. Smaller geometric forms brighten the composition as well as folk figures and simply articulated animals. The border is minimal and geometric with colorful reciprocal diamonds. Selvedges restored, minor repiles
