Luri long rug. Cm 68x233. Charming, tribal, wild, beaten up sweet rug from Fars area, Persia. Second half 19th century. --- Some twenty years ago i flew from Karachi to Quetta on something that looked like a small aircraft. It was a very old Fokker. Just above my seat there was a hole in the ceiling and air was whistling in above me. i stayed in a Baluchi village like hotel belonging to the Aga Khan family. The third thing i remember well was this rug. The owner of the carpet shop was sitting on it. He had nothing for me, but this piece was very interesting. i bought it after listening to his long stories. He said his uncle or a relative brought it from the HaJ long time ago. Well, this is a very common story!!! in the east. True or a lie it didn't really matter. i like this piece. Should be from Fars area, around the Zagros mountains. Could be either a Lori or a Khamseh. It has very nice colors. It should be datable to mid 19th century, or even before. It's in bad condition, but very charming. --- See more pics on fb: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151528192674258.551453.35825...
