Kashkai Khodjin/ & Kelim, mid 19th c. I bought this Khordjin because of the beautiful colors, especially the lime green. It has an excellent weave, and tho down to the knots most places still demonstrates an excellent draftsmanship! ok, acknowledged it is a bit battered, well ok, more than a bit, i think it is still a beautiful example of this well known, (but also somewhat rare in this quality), Kashkai motif. It also still has the exceptional quality of the multiple interlocking borders that you see on large Kashkai rugs and kelims; and the graphic of the large empty diamond kelim back is nice too? Size is: for the pile part, 57 cm. long x 52 cm. wide / for the kelim, 55 cm. long x 50 cm. wide. So the total length is 1.12 m.
