tiny fragment great charisma! silk brocade fragment from the late ming era with crane roundel. strong imagery refering to long life and immortality according to the daoistic tradition, one row of white cranes holding a lingzhi, one other row holding immortality peach (pantao),, and all the very "fungus" cloudy paysage to enhance the smoky alchemical atmosphere; in other words something like "longue vie au roi!" the last image is showing a real lingzhi (comestible). china, 16/ 17th c. 52x 15cm.
