Back
very old Obruk Kelim, damaged and missing one border.
Circa 1700. i will substantiate that by publishing a late 18th c. piece, and you can draw your own conclusions? ;-)) This kelim, may, in fact be even older, but again, who knows, i only know that is
the oldest one of the group that i have ever seen. In fact it may be the only one of this group, as i know of no other, (tho i am sure that is about to change)! ;-)) It is very thin as well. The colors, of course are exactly what
we see from the konya region in this period... and color Never Lies!
Anyway, there's not much to explain, it's all in the Eyes,,, so have a look! By the way, i have washed it and rinsed it quite a few times, but it still will get brighter.... takes awhile to get 300 years of dirt out! ;-))
