Semi antique Obruk Sivrihisar cicim flatwoven rug - Anatolia -Turkey
Rare semi antique flat woven cicim rug from the Obruk or Sivrihisar area in Anatolia Turkey. Probably from the early to mid 20th century. Natural brown plain weave ground with supplementary wefts of various colors, which are mostly aniline dyes, though some may be natural. All wool construction. Probably woven as a niche or door cover, but it can be used on the floor. Looks very good on a wall.
It is in very good condition. It is complete with the plaited finish at one end. Possibly never used.
