The composition is organized around a long vertical arrangement of large geometric medallions, each featuring highly stylized forms with stepped outlines, angular hooks, diamond shapes and smaller geometric details. The repeated medallions create a strong rhythm along the field while subtle differences in their colors and internal designs give the composition an expressive, handmade character. The motifs combine stylized floral elements, geometric rosettes, hooked forms, birds and abstract vegetal shapes. Particularly distinctive are the highly angular ornaments surrounding the central medallions, which give the rug a powerful graphic quality typical of Caucasian tribal design. The main field is predominantly deep indigo blue, creating an excellent background for the red, ivory, pale blue, terracotta and ochre motifs. The contrasting colors emphasize the geometric drawing and give the rug a remarkably vibrant appearance. The composition is enclosed by a series of narrow borders, culminating in a prominent ivory main border decorated with repeating stylized geometric and floral motifs. The outer blue borders provide a strong frame and enhance the elongated proportions of the rug.
