Antique South Caucasian Gendje or Shahsavan runner, with all over lattice and shrub design. Size: 11ft 6in x 3ft 8in (350 x 112cm). Circa 1880. The runner has a camel coloured lattice that contains a repeat shrub design. There are numerous small birds and animals at the edges which give the runner a tribal feel. The ivory ground border with the well known 'oak leaf and wine glass' design frames the runner well. The runner is in fair condition with even wear and medium / low pile, there is scattered old re-piling through out, the sides have been re-bound and the ends completed.
