The main field is composed of a navy-blue grid, within which finely woven pinkish-red motifs are carefully arranged. The ends of the runner feature broad plain bands of colour, providing a striking visual balance to the intricate central design. The wool is extraordinarily finely spun, allowing for a small-scale and highly detailed pattern. This runner must have been woven for an important or luxurious interior, as evidenced by the exceptional quality of the materials: the wool is soft and lustrous, and the dyes are natural, with rich and nuanced tones.
