Beautiful 19th century Baluch rug with grand scale. Not quite a main carpet size, but larger than usual for the type. This is an excellent old example, complete and with good provenance (provided upon request). All colors are natural and beautiful. The oranges look bright in these images, but they are 100% right. The images here don't really capture the colors as they were shot inside in artificial light. We know there are a lot of very good Baluch pieces on the market these days, but this one holds up as a top example maybe even best of type? At any rate, it is quite impressive in person partly because of its size and scale and also for its coloration. Not many like this. It is in very good condition without repairs and is complete with both selvedges and ends intact. The ends show wear - testament to its age and since the pile is in very good condition - it is clear that it was well cared for. Acquired from a London collection. Size: 45 x 78 inches. Ask about this
