We are beyond thrilled to share a glimpse of this exceptionally rare 17th-century Karapinar Kilim. Woven over 400 years ago, this piece is not just a textile; it's a preserved manuscript of a nomadic soul.
a Palette of Centuries: The rich, muted tones—walnut brown, terracotta, sage green, and indigo—are all achieved using natural, ancient vegetable dyes. They haven't just aged; they have matured into a deep, velvety patina that synthetic dyes can never replicate.
Decoding the Motifs: Look closely at the powerful geometric symbols. You see the traditional ‘Ram’s Horn’ (Koçboynuzu) for strength and the feminine ‘Hands on Hips’ (Elibelinde) for fertility, echoing a forgotten language of protection and belief.
