Central anatolia, Cappadocia (Melendiz Mountain)
a Melendiz Tale: Stitched in Time
The late 19th century... In the shadow of Cappadocia, on the fertile lands of Melendiz, a young woman’s hands meet this loom. Hidden in every loop is a hope; in every knot, a silent prayer.
This "yatak" (bedding rug) wasn’t just made for resting; it was crafted to warm the soul during the biting frost of winter. The simplicity of the natural dyes reflects the honesty of life back then. Those zigzag patterns? Perhaps they represent the flowing river, or maybe the snowy mountains that had to be crossed.
Looking as if it has just awakened from a century-long slumber, this piece whispers to us despite the noise of the modern world: "Slow down. Remember your story."
Traditional, Raw, and Perfectly Imperfect.
