Karabakh sumack bag face.
(yes Karabakh, not Shahsavan as i thought, but….read later on)
Cm 53x57.
Databile 1880sh.
Classic, elegant, rich design.
Lots of deep, saturated natural colors.
In very good condition.
The field is organized into horizontal bands, a common layout for Karabagh and Shahsavan bags.
The inner borders feature a meandering "t" or "running dog" design, while the main outer border contains colorful diamond medallions.
Items like this are prized by textile collectors for their graphic tribal aesthetic and technical complexity. While many similar bags are attributed to the Shahsavan tribes of northwest Persia and Transcaucasia, the specific color palette and structural details often lean toward a Karabagh (Caucasian) origin
