Shahsavan Moghan Sumack mafrash side/long panel. Size is cm 45x100 ca. Datable 1880/1890. The Shahsavan loved to use the moharamat/stripes pattern, in different ways. Here we have diagonal moharamat pattern which is rare on mafrash. Within the stripes see the “s” shapes surrounded by narrow borders with very simplified variations of dragon motif. The “s” motif has been the symbol of long life, prosperity, well being, etc.. Great sumack tight weaving. Awesome natural colors. Certainly a rare find and collectors' item.
