Antique Ersari Turkmen torba face of good size, with curled leaf design. Probably by the Ersari of Northern Afghanistan or Southern Turkmenistan. Size: 4ft 7in x 1ft 8in (140 x 50cm). Excluding tassels. Circa 1900. This large size Ersari torba was probably woven as a dowry item and used to decorate the side of a camel during the wedding procession. The torba has a repeat design of well known Turkmen curled leaf on a scarce ivory ground. Outstanding condition with very slight even wear and full pile. Stock Number: d-0538
