Size ; 115x165 cm Old kazakh ... This is my dream photograph. Separated by heritage, reunited by fate. This mid-19th-century Kazak rug carries a story as fragmented as its weave. Decades ago, it was literally torn in two—a common, heart-wrenching way for two brothers to divide their inheritance. For years, these two halves existed as separate entities, carrying the weight of a family’s split history. In an incredible twist of fate, a single peddler managed to acquire both pieces independently. He brought them to me just as they were: two broken halves of a single soul. Now, my mission is to give them a shared future. i will be mounting these fragments onto organic linen, not to hide the scar where they were severed, but to honor the journey they took to find each other again. It is rare to see the physical manifestation of a family's parting, and even rarer to be the one to stitch it back together. We aren't just restoring a rug; we are mending a legacy. The Ottoman Arabic numerals in the weaving are read as ١٢١٧, which corresponds to 1217. Since this is a Hijri (Islamic) date, converting it to the Gregorian calendar gives the following result: Calendar Conversion The Hijri year 1217 corresponds to the years 1802 and 1803 in the Gregorian calendar. detailed information Dm (direct message) arisoylarmobilya@gmail.com
