Three hard to find out of print hardcover books on Finnish ryijy’s (rugs) and Swedish flatweaves. One is in English, and two in Finnish. All with a multitude of photographs. Book 1) "Taideryijyja" (or ‘Art Rugs’ in English) by Anja Louhio, published 1970 with Finnish text, covers Finnish ryijy’s in the period 1950 to 1970. Book 2) "Ryijy Elää, Suomalaisia Ryijy’s 1778 to 2008" (or ‘Rug Life, Finnish Rugs 1778 to 2008' in English), published 2008 with Finnish text (and hundreds of photographs), covers Finnish ryijy’s from 1778 to 2008, but concentrating on ryijy’s from the 19th and early 20th century. Although both are in Finnish text they are worth having for a reference just for the photos alone. Book 3) "Flatweaves From The Fjord And Forest" by Peter Willborg, published in 1984 with English text, an excellent reference work covering Swedish flatweaves from the 18th and 19th centuries. All in very good interior condition, with some shelf wear to the dust jacket of #1, and #3 having a scuff to the cover. Can be sold individually, but prefer to sell as all three in one sale, which will also provide the buyer with the best price.
