Antique minimalist Qashqai Kilim with Striking Blue
This remarkable 1920s Qashqai kilim is distinguished by the predominance of dark blue, achieved entirely with natural dyes. The weaver created a simple yet visually striking design by placing just two oversized medallions in the central field and leaving the surrounding space open. The dramatic effect is enhanced by the contrast between dark and light tones.
In contrast, the multiple borders are finely scaled, with careful attention to intricate details, balancing the bold simplicity of the central design.
All the dyes are natural.
