Tibetan three panelled checkered tsuktruk, abrashed throughout, the checkered pile center is of alternating blue-green and dark blue 'squares' which are surrounded by a red pile border that mimics the red covered felt border seen on many Tibetan rugs. The size is 157cm x 72cm (approximately 62in x 28.5in), it was made in the early 1900’s, has thick pile and the warp and weft are of hand spun wool. These minimalist but captivating weaving's are of nomadic origin and although this one could certainly use a wash, other than some wear along the selvedge's is in good condition.
