Early 18th Century Cappadocia Bacali Rug
This rare and authentic handwoven “Bacali” rug from the Konya region dates back to the middle of the 19th century, showcasing the rich visual language of Central Anatolian tribal weavers. Known for its stepped mihrab design (chimney niche) and symbolic use of color, this rug reflects centuries-old weaving traditions rooted in spiritual and architectural expression.
Woven with natural-dyed wool on wool, the composition features saturated reds, blues, and earthy yellows, all masterfully aged into a soft, luminous patina. a rare collectible with profound cultural heritage, suitable for both refined interiors and museum-quality collections.
