Antique Baluch prayer rug of rare form with Turkmen design. Circa 1880 or earlier. Size: 4ft 2in x 2ft 10in (126x 86cm). This rare rug with Turkmen inspired design is considered by Craycraft to be by the Sarakh Baluch. The two vertical rows of large round Turkmen guls appear to be disappearing at the top under the mihrab, giving a three dimensional effect. The minor guls are also of Turkmen design.
