Antique Uzbek Lakai tribal ceremonial horse / saddle cover. Size: 4ft 10inx 4ft 2in (147 x 128m) excluding tassels. Circa 1920. This beautiful embroidered horse / saddle cover was made by the Lakai tribe of Uzbekistan, it was used on special occasions such as weddings. The black felted wool field is covered in silk embroidery with classic Lakai designs. The cover is in outstanding condition with very little wear, the cotton lining was replaced in Kabul in 2005.
