Swiss carpet, collectors item, made in Switzerland with the original label: Marke t Schoeller, 248 x 345 cm, id: P-2881
The pile is 100% Manchester wool, the background color is indigo, the surrounded large border is ivory, from 17th century Caucasian Armenian design, with abrashes, minor places the pile is used but repairable, a carpet with character, rare example. The carpet was exposed in the catalog of Ignaz Schlosser "Der schöne Teppich in Orient und Okzident", dated 17th century, on page 337, tafel l13.
