This carpet is modeled on a Selendi carpet from Western Anatolia, featuring the famous Cintamani pattern from this settlement. Tuduc carpets often found their way into major museums or important private collections as supposedly antique originals. The historic pattern was made by Teodor Tuduc in his carpet workshop in Bucharest from the models and holdings of Transylvanian or transylvanian carpets. The surface pattern of characteristic three-sphere motifs with two cloud bands is typical of Selendi carpets and has been found in ottoman carpets and textiles since the 15th to 17th senturies. The artfully depicted main border features typical rosettes and palmettes as cloud bands with delicate branches and blossoms. Age: circa 1930 to 1940, Dimensions: approximately 1.60 x 1.20 meters - Foot approximately 5.3" x 3.1", Material: wool on wool with mild, harmonious colors, Condition: relatively good as the rug was used as tapestry.
