In this program, chemical engineer and rug historian Deniz Coşkun will discuss the history of dyeing in Türkiye, and illustrate the actual organic and mineral source materials and how they are combined in different ways to make a very large variety of colors. He will also show many of the historical rugs and textiles where these classic colors and variations were used, and their local cultural significance.
