An exceptional antique needlepoint embroidered textile made by the famous Lakai tribe of Uzbekistan, circa the late 19th Century, named Aina Khalita(wedding mirror bag). It features a spectacular open design, with a repeating field and border that make this a truly remarkable piece of art. Textiles like this were made as bridal dowry offerings and would often be hung inside the tent as decoration. It's made using all silk materials, including silk tassels and a beautiful silk ikat back. The design is based on unique talismanic elements and has a wonderful array of spectacular natural color tones. The size is quite unusual for this type, which is another great feature of the textile. Certainly one of the best of the type and would make a wonderful wall hanging, enhancing your living space, giving it character and beauty.
