This antique khorjin, or saddlebag, is crafted with exceptionally fine wool and cotton. The front features a delicate latticework design created using the warp-float weave technique. This specialized technique is typically reserved for narrow pieces like tent bands or, in this case, saddlebags, highlighting its intricate detail. The red and white borders on this piece are unusually wide, adding a distinctive touch. While the back of the piece displays a more simple design than the front, predominantly featuring horizontal motifs, it is still remarkably complex and elaborately executed—a clear testament to the skill of a very talented weaver. The saddlebag is further embellished with charming woolen pom-poms as decoration. All the dyes used in this khorjin are natural.
