What is this?......asked a friend collector. Frankly would not know exactly. Is it heraldic? Iconic? a message? Imho it should be from Azerbaijan, north of Baku, Shirwan area. Xizi (or Khyzy) most probably. Let's stick to what we see: since I've found, and bought, two such bag faces, it should be a small, festival? khorjin. Size is cm 33x35. Age should be late 19th, early 20th century. Flatweave and sumack. No doubt it's rare, very rare. And it's also beautiful, in good condition. If interested please dm or email carlokocman@gmail.com
