The beauty of the Lakai embroideries are very unique and the motifs and designs were distinct from the other central Asian silk work. This example is one of the most coveted i have come across. The fine silk embroidered boasts a dazzling design that executes classic Lakai motifs to perfection. Furthermore the masterly use of colours to render the design is just fantastic. Particular the use of rich primary colours, blue, green, red and yellow mixed with black and white create a visual spectacle that is just pure art. The ground wool fabric is a beige / yellow one. Often we see Lakai work on red or black ground. These beige types are rare to find. In mint condition and worthy of any top collection. It has a floral cotton lining with Ikat edging and with fabulous tassels made of polychrome silks. Offered at a fair price. size: 65cm x 65cm (26” x 26”).
