This circa 1900 antique Peking Chinese handmade Oriental rug measures 2’8” x 6’7”. It has a navy blue ground containing two swimming ducks on a water feature out of which are growing water upon which sits a blue bird with red wings. Above is a rock formation with two tobacco colored tress with red, shades of blue and purple flowers. There are two butterflies flitting around the tree tops and the mate of the bird below is perched in a tree looking down. The field is enclosed with a wide lighter blue border containing six Chinese images ie words meaning peace and happiness. There are two other rhomboids with flowers on a tobacco ground. All of the rhomboids are separated by floral motifs in the same colors. The ends and sides are complete. The rug is in perfect full pile condition. It is clean and ready to go!
