An excellent example of Antique Uzbek Lakai tribe silk cross stitched shield shaped talismanic hanging known as Uut Kap Ilgich, dating to the 19th century. This is one of the coveted examples of Lakai cross stitched silk embroidered hangings i have seen. The embroidery is exceptionally fine and executed using fine cross-stitched technique. The rich colours are bold magnifying the beauty of the graphic design. The lattice design with intricate inner detail repeats in primary colours with lovely repeating rams horn borders on top. It is finished with gorgeous polychrome netted tassels with further pom-poms ranging down. This textile art is just a magnificent play of colour and design and much nicer than the photos. In good shape with natural patina. Fairly priced. Size 55cm x 36cm (21.5” x 12.5”) with tassels hanging a further 40cm (16”). For inquiries please email directly to: istalificollections@outlook.com.
