Very Old Central Asian / Uzbek main carpet with crosses in octagons. Great saturated and diverse color with an amazing border of a type i have never seen anywhere else. The negative space forms intriguing quatrefoils somewhat reminiscent of 'star Ushaks'. The handle is soft and supple in complete contrast to the typical stiff feel of late 19th century non-Turkmen Central Asian pieces. This plus color and elements of design suggest an earlier date, at least several generations before the late 19th century. This is an authentic tribal piece. Perhaps best of type regardless of condition. My pictures aren't so great and the fan at the bottom is made more prominent by the angle at which the image was taken. Ask about this
