a rare find...Chinese minority festival top from Nan Dian 90 + years old hand woven cotton fabric with a variety of embroidery techniques using home spun threads... Jacket is short in the back...most events at festivals were outdoors in large open spaces... no sense in wasting (ruining) elaborate embroidery by sitting on the dirt or tree stumps... The front lower section of garment has embroidery with heavy thread...almost rug like...to keep the lap warm while sitting...
