fresh in a lovely Chinese bench cover fragment with dragons. These were originally around 14 foot long made to cover benches in monasteries in China and Tibet. This one dates from the early 18c Kangxi period and is in full pile but both ends have been rewoven some time ago. Size is 155 x 78 cm amazing wool and colour as you would expect from a piece of this age
