Antique tribal pile rug in good condition with some unusual design features. Possibly Veramin? Overall good medium length pile with very light wear. The dark blue field densely packed with latch hooked diamond motifs is unusual. The ivory main border is new to me, a colorful complex variant of a floral meander or “leaf and cup” design. The use of “Running dog” minors is interesting as well. An additional “star and bar” skirt is puzzling. Selvages appear rewrapped. i believe the palette, although also unusual, is all natural, featuring some pretty light blues, light greens and an apricot orange. Reasonably clean. All wool foundation. Turkish knotted. An interesting and mysterious weaving. 19th c. 4’1” x 7’
