Laos blanket cover textile. Early 20th century? i believe this is a "Pah Lop,” which is a Tai Lue mattress cover cloth from Udomxay, Laos. Very soft floppy handle. Lower portion is two halves sewn together with a base of natural cotton with tan and indigo embroidery. Upper portion is a natural cotton plain weave of two halves. They may have been two long halves originally. The layout is correct, but the upper plain weave was maybe reattached or replaced. All the seams seem to be machine stitched. All of the yarn seems to be hand spun cotton. Sides are selvages with one unfinished end of macrame fringes. Top and bottom of panels are cut and sewn under. Good condition for age. There is some staining and some fading. i have not tried to clean it. There is one area where the warps are missing approx. 5/8” x 5/8”(See photograph 4.). There is a small hole in the natural cotton plain weave. There are a couple of broken threads near the fringe(See photographs 6 and 7.). There is some wear to the embroidery(See photograph 5.). See photographs, which were taken outdoors on a cloudy day without a flash. If you would like more photographs, please message me. i do not accept returns, so please ask questions, and if desired, request more photographs. Size: 41” wide at top; 38-1/2” wide near fringes x 83” long avg.(plain weave area: 34” long avg.; embroidery: 49” long avg.) excluding fringes, which are 5-1/2” long
