this is an early kangxi carpet from the 17th century with a rare and possibly unique design. depicted are 9 bonzai of 9 different plants which are all readible (a variety of citrus medica called buddha s hand in chinese, lotos, paonien, etc..) , each pot are of a different typus and different form of linbishi "scholar stones" are represented. the drawing is of a seldom seen quality, if you need yes it is not unrelated to the better known classical scholar carpet group. the orange spots are crude restoration tentative, it is missing the brown border, but altogehter it is in quite good condition for its age and as you maybe know if necessary as many of these kangxi carpet it could.be also one day looking again like perfect condition....
