Antique Gendje / Circa 3rd qtr. 19th c.? Size: 7'2" x 1'3"
The beautiful small rug has an outstanding color palette and a brilliant array of multiple colors! i especially lov the lovely lime green used in the border, but also elsewhere in the rug. all the greens in this rug are great. In fact all the dyes are excellent! The weave is also top notch. As for condition the end guard stripes are rewoven with old wool and match the rest of the rug perfectly. Condition is very good overall with almost no reweaves or repairs. There are some areas where the pile is down to the knot heads, but the pile is original and in fact contributes nicely to the 3-d effect of the piece! The weave is also Tops, with a ribbed back and a very well done structure. It's a brilliant Gendje!
