Afluch: not quite Afshar, not quite Baluch, but more Baluch than Afshar? it is asymmetric open left with goat hair weft, dyed khaki field with natural camel border. Highlights with cochineal and a very pleasing light yellow. This piece was once part of the Basha Collection and the former owner believed it to be early 19th century. To me it is more likely later in the nineteenth cut the openness of drawing and balnce of composition are quite compelling. It is very dirty and should probably be cleaned. sides are missing but traces of flatweave remain at the ends. size is 3'1"x4'2"
