Antique Yomut Asmalyk -Large Size (124 cm by 64 cm[approx. 49" by 25"]-not counting tassels)
This five-sided Turkoman bridal trapping is truly a collector's item with real investment value. a rarity in the antique textile trade, it is especially hard to find in near mint condition with all its tassels and ties still complete. This asmalik has full pile and shows no wear. The only flaw i could find is a very small group of three spots where some pile is missing. The largest of the spots is about 1/2 cm in diameter (see photos 10, 11 and 12) If you examine these 3 photos closely you will see little flecks of white on the surface of the pile. They are only on the surface and feel like dried paint. i did not try to remove them since i have no expertise in rug cleaning. This flaw is only in a very small area and i am certain it can easily be taken care of.
