The success of the first auction in September 2013 exceeded all my expectations and we are excited to put together ongoing sales of exciting material. I would like to thank my clients—buyers and sellers—as well as visitors for their interest and trust. In order to build upon this success and to offer a corresponding selection of high quality carpets and textiles, I reached out to my numerous collector and dealer contacts around the world. Also, despite the increasing difficulty to find really good pieces, I am pleased to offer in this catalogue what I believe to be a sophisticated collection. After 31 years in dealing with antique oriental carpets, I am delighted to have taken up the challenge of the auction business and enthusiastically will do my utmost for both sellers and buyers. At this point I would like to thank my wife, Elisabeth, and my son, Martin, for their tireless dedication and support. Without their help this catalogue certainly would not have been ready in time.
