Antique West Anatolian rug, 4' x 6'2, Makri region, mid nineteenth century or earlier. Scattered areas of wear and damage with losses to the ends and sides (see photos). More than half of the original blue two-cord selvedge intact. All wool foundation with ivory warps and red wefts. All natural, saturated dyes with deep reds, soft, blue-greens, and a great yellow.
