Twenty four goats together with the shrubs needed for feed are portrayed in the design. There is a Gabbeh featured as plate 24 in the excellent text book on Gabbeh weaving by Helmut Reinisch which has a different field design but the same honey coloured centre panel and deep sky blue border line on all four sides.
