Nasca/Wari tie dye panels. a.d. 400 - 800. These discontinuous warp and weft tie dyed panels are in need of mounting for display purposes. If mounted together they would look something like you see here. There are three panels all together - two single panels of 5 squares each and one double-wide panel of ten squares all together. As is, they offer a few options for mounting - altogether or in separate panels mounted individually. Each is stabilized to a backing cloth so the major conservation work has been done. They simply need to be re-attached to whatever backing cloth and frame or frames one prefers. As seen here the size of all panels together is a very satisfying 24 x 32 inches. The colors are very nice and they will look great once mounted. For a complete description of the very complicated and impressive weaving and dying technique see the following link to another fragment from the same textile that is also for sale, but already mounted. http://www.rugrabbit.com/node/209429
