Three ancient ceramic vessels from the Altiplano region of the South Central Andes, Lake Titicaca Basin. a.d. 600 - 1100. Little is known about ceramics from this period and region. They can sometimes be quite primitive especially when they come from remote, provincial areas. The ceramic with two hand/arm-like appendages is unusual and charming. The pitcher-shape vessel has a dense, hard clay with gold colored pyrite flecks throughout. The off-white pot is atypical in coloration.Largest pot is 7 inches tall.
