Three large ceramic pitcher shaped vessels from the ancient Americas. These pots are from the Altiplano region of Bolivia and date to between a.d. 600 - 1400. Each is from a different regional group, but all share some Tiwanaku influence. They survived intact which is not typical. In the archaeological record of the greater Lake Titicaca Basin very few examples such as these are known. The largest of these is ten inches tall and strikingly primitive in style and very unusual. Another vessel shows faces in an interesting context on two sides near its spout. All ceramics of this kind are quite rare and worth collecting. This group was assembled nearly 40 years ago and have remained in the same collection since that time.
