Sauj Bulak Kurdish Rug, Late 19th Century. All great Sauj natural colors on a rich dark ground. Safavid derivative floral motifs and Kashmir shawl-like borders. Lower pile in the field than much of the borders. The wool is rich and lustrous. a bit of repiling in the black vines in a couple small border sections. 107 x 210 cm
