This immaculately drawn chichi displays the extra-wide border section that is typical of the provenance; the narrow midnight blue field contains a repeat of hooked stepped polygons and small octagons, incorporated into a lattice of serrated leaves. Late 19th century date is suggested by the quality of this finely woven example, which also displays a captivatingly rich range of first-rate colors.
