Veramin (probably) Afshar/Qashqai/Shahsavan saddle cover or possibly Ru-Khorsi, Late 19th to early 20th century. a bit mysterious in its tribal provenance with a Qashqa'i feel, an Afshar example in existence and Shahsavan animal and floral motifs. Perhaps a convergence of influences due to proximity. Colors are strong and all natural dyes. The two ends of the plain center field are not symmetrical adding some interest. The tassels and turquoise-blue beads are all in tact. Such a wonderful and original ethnographic tribal piece. 163 x 172 cm.
